Navigating Parent Portal
Need help navigating the Parent Portal? If so, bring your lunch and be at the next Principal’s Brown Bag and Info Session in the Renner Library on Sept. 19th from 12:00-1:00pm. Our Principal, Ms. Pegram, will be there along with Sara Andrade, who will be walking us through the changes and enhancements to our Parent Portal. You will learn how to access the information you need regarding your student’s grades, assignments, MAP Scores, and much more.
In hopes of making life a little easier for everyone on Open House night, September 6th, PTA has arranged for food to be available for purchase at the event. Starting at 5 pm, Dillas Primo Quesadillas (www.dillas.com) and Kona Ice (www.konaice.com) will be in front of the school. The cafeteria will also open at 5 pm. We hope this makes having dinner and getting to Open House easier. We also hope it gives our community a chance to meet and mingle – time to meet the new friend and his/her family. As a final reminder, Renner MS earns funds from the food truck sales.
Hello Parents and Guardians,
I would like to take a quick moment to help direct your concerns and/or questions for faster service or follow up. I truly enjoy hearing from parents and helping out wherever needed; however, I’ve noticed that a good number of questions that come to me are “in the hands” of another person or department. You are welcome to continue emailing me if that is a preference, but due to the volume of emails I receive daily, it may be a faster turnaround to contact your needed person directly. To shorten your wait time, here is a common list of individuals and their departments:
- Any scheduling questions, concerns, or requests go directly to your child’s grade-level counselors. I don’t handle schedules, changes, drops, adds, or anything with class schedules. Here are the counselors and their extensions and emails
- Brad Allcorn: 8th grade (469) 752-5815 firstname.lastname@example.org
(also handles specialized testing such as STAAR, CogAt, Map, accelerated math)
- Gina Weaver: 7th grade (469) 752-5816 email@example.com
- Laura Fix: 6th grade (469) 752-5817 firstname.lastname@example.org
- Pamela Landy, counseling clerk (469) 752-5819 email@example.com
(Ms. Landy can help with general questions about enrollment, address questions, transportation, withdrawal procedures, etc.)
- Brad Allcorn: 8th grade (469) 752-5815 firstname.lastname@example.org
- Student behavior questions or concerns can be directed to grade-level administrator
- Medicine, specific injury or sick questions, medical procedures
- Special Education
- Athletics (teams, tryouts, practices, times, gamedays, etc)
My objective with this note is provide quicker service for our parents. Of course, if you have academic questions, such as homework, tests, projects, classroom expectations and procedures, or information particular to a classroom, you should speak directly to your child’s teacher. You can access teacher information on the Renner website at http://k12.pisd.edu/renner-middle-school then go to the left side of the page and click on
I am always available for each parent, but I hope this helps give you direct access to individuals you need and quicker.
