Mustang Messenger Enews
Produced and emailed by Renner staff. Includes information and calendar of school-related activities, such as club and athletic events. Sign-up through Plano ISD’s Parent Portal in the Enews section. You can select all the schools you would like to receive news.

We pass along the “thank you”s received from the Renner staff to the many parent volunteers who participated in Teacher Appreciation Week. Here is an excerpt from just one of the thank you notes we received.

“Please accept my most sincere thanks for all of your hard work this week. The creativity, time and attention to detail you devoted just blew everyone away. Thank you so much for the wonderful bagels, milkshakes, casseroles, “brain food” snack, surprises in our boxes, and of course, the most unbelievable luncheon!!!!

As a PTA we coordinate this event, but it would not be possible without the support of many, many parent volunteeers. Thank you all.

Plano ISD has released the 2013-14 School Calendar.   Renner has also set the Back-to-School Registration/Packet Pickup Days as Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16.  At the March 4th General PTA Membership Meeting, those two days were designated as tax-free days, which will save parents the sales tax on back-to-school supplies purchased through the PTA.

We are pleased to introduce the volunteers who will be serving on the Renner PTA Board and in the Renner community for the 2013-14 school year. Many of these volunteers will begin preparations for Registration/Packet-Pickup for the coming school year immediately.

WatchDOGS is an fun opportunity for dads to volunteer one whole day at school.  If you haven’t signed up yet or want to make sure you get another day in this semester, check the calendar and email lori.rough@pisd.edu to let her know your date preferences.  It’s a truly rewarding experience you won’t forget, and neither will the kids!  Click here to learn more about the program and to register to volunteer.

Texas PTA Life Membership is one of the highest honors that can be presented to an individual for outstanding service to children and youth.  Renner PTA has bestowed this honor on four individuals this year.  Please congratulate them when you have a chance.

Honorees are also invited to attend a district-wide award banquet hosted by the Plano Council of PTAs.

On behalf of all Renner families, our PTA hosts a Holiday Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. This year’s luncheon included the support of generous local businesses that donated gifts and decorations for the teachers and staff.
