Winter Outreach Program

Renner’s Winter Outreach Project is a Pet Supplies Drive to benefit Operation Kindness from January 30 to February 24.  Operation Kindness is the oldest and largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas. The shelter cares for an average of 200-250 animals on a day-to-day basis, with another 60-80 animals in foster homes.  More than 3,000 dogs and cats are assisted by Operation Kindness each year!

Operation Kindness needs anything from cage cleaning supplies to pet toys.  Please place all donations in the silver bins located outside the front office.

Let’s show Operation Kindness how much Renner Middle School cares about the homeless animals in our community.  Thanks so much for your support!

Please contact the Renner PTA Community Outreach Coordinator, Leslie Hyne, at outreach@rennerpta.org if you have any questions.

Reflections 2011-2012

The PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual arts Reflections Program. The Texas Reflections program has the most participation of any PTA program with entries totaling over 75,000 across the state. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas:

  • literature
  • musical composition
  • photography
  • visual arts
  • dance choreography
  • film/video

In its more than 30-year history, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art.

Please visit the Texas PTA website for rules and information.

Entry with forms are due by November 4th. Please submit to front office.

Please contact the Arts in Education Chair if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.

A great learning experience! When children express themselves through words, pictures, movement, music, photography and other art forms, they grow intellectually. They learn to analyze their thoughts, feelings and ideas. They learn to look at things, people and experiences in a fresh and exciting way and they become more interested in the ideas and works of others.
